What is ARCH?
The Archive and Repository for Continuing Humanity
ARCH is a monument and park designed to preserve and protect Earth’s languages, knowledge, and biodiversity against future global climate change or catastrophes.
The park would also contain:
The Park
Murals of Biodiversity,
Technology, Art & Achievements
Oculus
Central Disk:
Humanity Timeline

Welcome Message
A Welcome Message on the exterior of our monument will be translated into many different languages for visitors from around the world. Like a modern-day Rosetta Stone, this message can be a key for future visitors to unlock translations if any of Earth's languages were to vanish.
Welcome, Visitors
This message is in many of Earth’s languages.
We hope this archive and repository protects our history, knowledge, and biodiversity for future inhabitants, and can be used to restore life and to maintain a healthy, thriving environment for our planet.
Building our vault underground will help regulate the temperature and protect the DNA samples.
We will also store digital genomes, and need 500 genomes of each species to recreate the amount of biodiversity we need.
These digital files will be backed up to cloud storage. If we need to depart our home, we can upload our files to our spaceships, and vacuum seal the vault to preserve the files and DNA samples.
Genome Database
A genetic library will be stored in a vacuum sealed vault beneath our monument. It will include DNA cell samples and a digital DNA genome database with 500 examples of each different species.
We can use this knowledge to revive Earth's life forms if they become extinct.
Digital Archive
Our vault will store the combined knowledge of all Earth's cultures, from language and literature to science and technology. We will have digital archives of our great works of art, music, and more.
STEM Center
Our Interactive STEM Education and Research Center will allow visitors to access the ARCH archive and database to conduct research or explore the collection, and learn about Earth's history and cultures. The center will include interactive S.T.E.M. learning stations. We will include space to host classes and workshops.

Global Coalition
Many organizations from around the world are currently working together on genome databases. We will join these scientists and researchers to collect and maintain genome data in our vault.
We will work with global historians to create our digital archive of Earth’s combined knowledge and histories.
We will preserve Earth’s rich and vibrant art by gathering digital copies from all cultures and people.
We will host a contest to create the carved murals on the exterior of the ARCH. A panel of art experts from around the world will select which works will be included in each category: Plants and Animals, People and Places, Science and Technology, and Art.
The central disc will have a carved pictorial timeline of the human race, starting with our evolution and concluding with space travel. The center will have a DNA molecule to indicate what is stored in the vault below.
